The pandemic continues to slow down tourism’s recovery to pre-pandemic levels. In 2021 the number of overnight stays decreased 49,8% compared with 2019. The hotel sector has been forced into structural changes. It’s expected to see more mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances; new products and concepts and the entry of new international players.
